In response to a recent sample test conducted by the Consumer’s Foundation on 10 items of commercially available cool clothes, five items sold by uni-mart and other vendors failed to meet the standards, the tTAC, which promotes the promotion and service of functional Textile’s certification, said that it had no record of uni-mart applying for instant cool textiles certification.

The textile association said that up to the end of June this year, through the functional textile verification project “instant cool textile” verification, there are 5 times (4 manufacturers), including 2 times through the “r & D sample” verification, 3 times (2 manufacturers) through the “batch inspection” verification. The two manufacturers that passed the batch inspection, one is A Thin Industrial Co., LTD., which is used for shoe lining; The other is Fu Fang Industrial Co., LTD., which uses the knitted fabric for POLO shirts.

According to the council, the certification of functional textiles by the Council is a rigorous process with the help of experts from textile industry research institutes and academia. The “instant-cooling textile” verification test requires the test sample of 20 cm square placed at 20oC with 65% relative humidity for 24 hours in a constant temperature and humidity environment, tested with a thermal effect tester. The testing institutions entrusted by TTC are national Notary Inspection Company and Textile Industry Comprehensive Research Institute. It is not clear whether the consumer foundation has such testing equipment and uses the same testing method as stated in the report. In recent years, China’s functional textiles have developed well and become the main supplier of functional textiles in the world. Many world-famous brands have designated China’s functional textiles as their main supply source. Functional textiles are the main source of profit for China’s textile industry. Moreover, the certification system of functional textiles is established according to the international ISO/IEC Guide 65 regulations, and the verification business is impartial, objective, and independent. The certificates and tags issued by the commission can make the consumer public have confidence in functional textiles.
